Meet Our Owner/Director,

Alan Yoder

Mr. Yoder is not only the teacher but also the director and owner of Central Pennsylvania Diesel Institute, our mechanic trade school. This along with his teaching career of over 30 years make him uniquely qualified. He brings a passion and commitment to each and every student that is not equal in any other mechanic trade school in Pennsylvania. Because of his investment in this business he is dedicated to see each student as a person with unique needs and circumstances. Mr. Yoder is deeply committed to seeing each student become a skilled mechanic who can move into a fulfilling, well-paying career.

Mr. Yoder’s long career has allowed him to develop outstanding contacts in the industry who serve as invaluable resources for jobs for our new graduates. Local industry leaders know that a graduate from Central Pennsylvania Diesel Institute has received quality diesel technician training in Pennsylvania and is well prepared to begin working quickly and with minimal supervision.

A Letter from Our Director

Welcome Future Students,

I am Alan Yoder the Director, Instructor and Owner here at Central Pennsylvania Diesel Institute (CPDI) . Prior to owning CPDI, I received a diploma majoring in Diesel Mechanics from Lincoln Technical Institute and attended Penn State University where I attained my Vocational II Professional Certificate in Diesel Mechanics. I had more than 10 years of employment in the field of diesel mechanics prior to being employed at a high school vocational school as the Diesel Mechanics Instructor. I remained an Instructor there for over 12 years. During my time as a teacher in this setting I developed the curriculum, evaluated and chose instructional materials, and created teaching modules as well as creating my own instructional materials. In 2005 I had the opportunity to purchase the school which is now known as ‘Central Pennsylvania Diesel Institute’.
I have a passion for teaching . I also enjoy sharing my skills, knowledge, and offering hands on experience to my students in the industry I know best. I take pride in the school as well as the students that enroll here. We offer a friendly environment for our students to grow to their fullest potential. Our program will give you all the knowledge and experience needed to obtain an entry -level position within the diesel mechanic field. I am excited to share this opportunity with each of you.
